Andersen's *Just-in-Time* places a wooden transport crate for live animals, stickered LIVE ANIMALS, next to a replica in coloured acrylic glass, complete with grid door, hazard labels and a padlock.

Gaston's *Winner Winner Chicken Dinner* leans a driftwood post against the wall, bound with found material from bullet casings to a fish jaw bone and glass from a bus station window, with a motor, drive belt and wheel at its base.

## Below is curator Guilherme Vilhena Martins' text for the show:

*Sequence for an Optimal Dispatch* is grounded in a simple proposition: rhythm is disciplinary, and logistics is one of its regimes. Logistics fundamentally consists of moving things from one place to another.

> The point is that rhythm organizes bodies. Things are bodies, too (bodies are things for logistics).

Time determines the conditions of that movement: an array of spaces traversed at a specific rhythm. Rhythm, in turn, is an ethical and political category. One may move fast or slow. Too fast or too slow (ask your boss, your local tax office, etc.)—upbeat if in a rush, piano for slowing down.

The point is that rhythm organizes bodies. Things are bodies, too (bodies are things for logistics). The experience of rhythm is complicated, though, immersive. Rhythm imposes and produces a sense of cadence, acceleration, or detachment, according to a logic of arrival and departure.

It becomes logistical when the movement of bodies is measured in time, according to a predetermined sequence: pick-up, transit, transfer, and delivery–teleological, goal-oriented, function-driven. Still, rhythm is what makes movement intelligible and repeatable.

This experience can be dissected in many ways. Andersen's strategy, for instance, is to expose and reappropriate the objects and infrastructures that organise contemporary life through systems of optimisation, circulation, and control.

In this sense, *Just-in-time* (2025) materialises the pinnacle of that entanglement, the peak of logistical optimization: two shipping boxes (an original and a crafted, glimmering replica in acrylic glass) designed for transportation of live animals–minimum space, produced for the lowest possible price, so that everything arrives in time, bodies fitting inside.

Gaston, on the other hand, introduces an important notion into this wider constellation. *Winner Winner Chicken Dinner*(2026) several elements found along the coastline with a redundant mechanism centred around a wheel.

This underlines an important tension: on the one hand, it points to garbage - the byproduct of logistics - as a form of still life, somewhat of an archaeological object; on the other, the wheel is the ultimate symbol of industrial rhythm, the cornerstone of production understood as movement. Together, these two dimensions comprise the complexity of overproduction and movement as both intentional (what is shipped) and residual (what has been left behind).

This is precisely the movement Diaferia and Simoncini touch upon. *Heavy rotation (Anohni performing "Sometimes I feel like a motherless child" at Primavera Sound 2025)* (2026) encapsulates this narrative dimension as a blown-up storyboard hanging from the ceiling.

Continuing an existing thread of their practice, the duo draw from a live exhibition of Anohni's 2025 series of concept shows "Mourning the Great Barrier Reef", creating an autonomous byproduct of a sonic fact.

The *Heavy rotation* series functions as a pirate, imaginary collection of altered sonic memorabilia. The duo formalises that dimension through a visual language that borrows directly from musical language. This reference to sound is key, for sound is perhaps the most tangible form of rhythm.

Rhythm is spatial, bodily. Sound is a sign—a fever, a form of dazzle, an embodied haze. It encapsulates time. Sound carries bodies along: it accelerates, slows down, immerses them in a specific rhythm. Chung inhabits precisely that plane.

*THEE PSYCO KILLAH TRASHBOI MAKES MONEY TREES INTO GRAIN AND YOUR WISH CANCELLED SO THAT FLOW ACE WAVES THRESHOLD* (2023) assembles a mesh of scores that could easily belong in a non-place: an airport, a mall, a parking lot. These are the places where the entanglement of rhythm, movement, and logistics most notably comes to the surface.

Mehmeti's *Mami und Babi, früher wie heute* (2025) adds one final important dimension to the myth of permanent movement: the nuclear family captured in the family portrait. Here they are, floating in an opaque, whimsical hut, a picture as odd, singular, and peculiar as it is banal. The nuclear family is another rhythmic structure, a form of reproduction. It is itself a form of logistics supporting logistics: a structure for organising reproduction, labour, care, and repetition.

Altogether, these positions form an itinerary: a particular path, traversed at a particular rhythm. *Sequence for an Optimal Dispatch* gathers the objects, rhythms, fictions, and infrastructures through which contemporary movement is organised, rendering them visible as material form.

The exhibition could just as well be a warehouse of wonder, lost in a city suburb or an intermodal district, for it mirrors not only the disciplinary project of rhythm, but its very architecture—one of cadence and belief.
